I spent New Years 07/08 in this
apartment and it was the BEST location I could have asked for!
The apartment's features (such as bathroom, kitchen) are on the
small side if you're quite tall like myself but otherwise,
completely enjoyable!
The owner & caretaker are both extremely friendly & approachable
with questions.
Mr. V. spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me and several
emails giving tips to make the trip a great time.
I would definitely recommend it and would even stay there again
myself.
VERY fair price as well! |

I am very pleased with my stay at 5
rue Androuet -
where a colleague + I stayed 2 weeks. As we both
carry a suitcase daily for work, it was great to be
one short flight upstairs. Also, we had ample space
to have separate quarters (him on pull-out sofa
bed, me in the VERY COMFY double bed in the
bedroom). Everything we needed in the kitchen and
W/C was to be found. Great to have a tub, too,
albeit a bit small if you are a taller person..Water
pressure in shower very good as well.
As for the surroundings, they couldn't be better.
There are so many great restos nearby - Cafe Burq
leaps to mind as very, very good (definitely get the
baked brie appetizer)- plus others on Rue des Trois
Freres, and of course shops: stinky cheese shop,
butcher, pharmacie, superlative boulangerie/salon
du the at the bottom of Passage des Abbesses:
"Coquelicot". YUM! Also great dress shops and
Nicolas (purveyor of wine), which is very
important...
Last but not least, the metro Abbesses is right
there! Easy as can be. |

| We had a great time at this
apartment and would stay again without hesitation. The area of
Paris is great and safe with lots of activity well into the
evening. Within a block or two there are shops including our
favorite bakery. Please do not hesistate to call me to confirm
my positive recommendation. |

| This apartment provided everything
we needed to spend a wonderful week in Paris, and then some. It
was well-stocked, there was basic kitchen supplies already
provided, maps and books and other useful items (like a major
heavy-duty voltage converter) ready and waiting for us. Plus a
stereo and a stack of great CDs, and free wireless for my
laptop! The apt. has more space than might appear from the
pictures, with lots of light. It was clean and neat (not
immaculate) and well-secured, with a perfectly functional but
teeny-tiny bathroom - it's a funky little apartment after all,
not a 5-star hotel. But you wake up in the morning, open the
shutters to look out on the art shops and the corner market
(famous from the movie "Amelie"!) and local residents doing the
same, it's exactly what I dreamed living in Paris would be like.
We were VERY nervous about being in Paris for the first time
(never visited France before, for that matter, and speak minimal
French!) but the proprietor Peter and his relative Dominique
answered all our questions, told us everything we needed to
know, met us immediately upon our arrival, were exceptionally
accommodating. I really can't say enough about how kind and
helpful they were. And for that matter so was everyone we met,
evenly the supposedly famously rude cafe waiters (they were
efficient, not rude!) - trying to speak French when you can
helps, but people were so gentle with us! The apartment has an
ideal location on a side street that has very little traffic and
noise (except for the locals enjoying a walk late at night after
many bottles of incredibly good wine) but close to literally
dozens of restaurants of every type and size and price range,
including a fabulous patisserie and the Boulangerie a l'Ancienne
where we quickly learned to queue up early to get our fresh
bread and all manner of baked goods, quick meals and a huge bowl
of excellent coffee. A lively neighborhood overlooking the whole
city but where the tourists who climb the hill to see the Sacre
Cour and Place du Tertre and maybe the Moulin de la Gallete all
go back down the hill at night leaving this wonderful lively
Parisian village all to ourselves. Peter arranged for us to be
picked up by the Blue Van and delivered right to his apt. door,
which was very helpful but for those familiar with the Metro (or
any subway system) the apartment is quite easy to get to from
CDG airport by taking the RER B to Gare du Nord train station,
walk underground to La Chapell & take the blue 2 line to Place
Pigalle (and get out there if you want to see the Moulin Rouge!)
then switch to the green 12 line for one stop up to Abbesses -
such a cool station, exits into a little park with carousel! You
can't go wrong with this truly charming, affordable, wonderful
spot in the City of Light - when people say there's no place
like Paris, believe me they are right! |

| We spent 6 days in this lovely
Paris apartment, about 3 blocks from the Place du Tertre, the
old artist quarter of Montmartre. 2 blocks from the Abbesses
Metro station. The location is perfect, near shops, restaurants,
lots of local color. The apartment is not modern "Holiday Inn"
but that's not why you are going to Paris, is it? We always stay
in condo/apartments when we travel and were pleased with this
one. It has all the description says it has and we think you
will be very satisfied. |

NOTE : My apt has been on the vacation rental market since quite
a while, but this guestbook has been set up recently. Therefore
I am adding some of the numerous feedbacks I got from my
previous guests.
Feel free to ask me their email addresses and phone numbers.
Quite a number of my guests were new to Paris and to the Butte
Montmartre area, and they actually contacted my previous guests
before making their own decision.
There is a tremendous diversity in Paris, and this is a place
that people fall in love with, but because it is a personal
experience and matter of taste, there is nothing
better than other people's feedback to make sure that you will
enjoy your stay.

04/23/07 Positive The apartment and neighborhood were great. We
are a family of 5 and it was just the right size. The
neighborhood has many wonderful restaurants, cafes and bakeries.
I think we had the best croissants ever on Rue Lepic. We hope to
return soon!

02/09/07 Positive We found this
place enchanting. Decorated in good taste & beautiful colors,
with the space very well used, and even works of art on the
walls. Excellent quality bed, pleasant living room, exceptional
location, fascinating district AND quiet street, and Amélie's
grocery store is quite something! It gives a whole different
angle on Paris.
Peter and various family members were incredibly helpful and
pleasant. We'd endorse all the comments already on the site, and
are already planning another visit this fall, because it was so
memorable last time. Many thanks! and congratulations on what
you've created here... It's SO friendly, and much nicer than
being in an impersonal hotel.

My stay in Montmartre was wonderful. I was here for almost 3
months. Peter was very accomadating, and offered help whenever I
needed it. The location was perfect, all my friends in Paris
were jealous! The apartment itself if very comforatable, and
everything that you might need is in it! I highly recommend
renting from Peter, and plan on renting again next time i'm in
Paris.

Positive we were a family with 4 children and the apartment was
very convenient. it is located in a very silent street in
Montmartre without any fear in the neighbourhood. I'd like to

| It truly was everything we had
hoped for. Peter and Dominique were great to work with. The
apartment was even better than we expected. The best part was
the location. On the same street as the market in Amalie! Who
could ask for more. Plus the easy walk to Sacre Coure and the
Metro. We met the people that owned the gallaries across the
street and they were fun and told us about places to go. It is a
real neighborhood and we immediately felt right at home. |

Simple and to the point with no hidden agenda.
I really enjoyed working with Pierre who was more than familiar with the property as well as its surroundings.

It was completely furnished with everything you could need on vacation with all the amentities that were published in the ad.
I opted for the removable air-conditioning since this is not standard in Paris and you need to make not of that.
Since i was fore-warned i was very comfortable.
Centrally located it is close to all attractions and public transportation.
Will book again with Pierre..

The price was economical and better than the competition.
Remember to bring your portable dvd, players there are different formats to videos.
Besides that all went as according to plan.
Very satisfied Customer

First, the quirks:
The wireless internet didn't work, but the wired (CAT5 Ethernet cable) worked fine.
The bathroom is split into 2 - a toilet room and a sink/shower room. A shower curtain was provided, but there was no rod to hang it up. The door to the shower room is glass - lots of light - little privacy. Romantic getaway?
The kitchen is a hallway, but easy to use and well stocked. I loved the espresso machine.
There is no AC - we used the fans in May, but it might be hotter during the summer.
Overall, the apartment was clean, tidy, and well laid out. A few more doors for privacy would have been helpful.
The neighborhood was wonderfully lively. There are several great bakeries within a few blocks. There was almost no street noise despite the likely street life. The Les Halles metro stop was within 10 minutes walk was convenient for accessing nearly all of Paris.
This apartment was rented by a reseller, who provided adequate communication, but did not have specific details -- for example how to use the wireless internet (username/password).
Note: The TV was nicely sized and had a cable setup with a DVD player (but not for region 1 - US DVDs).
